Our goals for our Mountain Bike Wheels are as lofty as the peaks themselves: we demand high-performance wheels that are stiff, yet comfortable – tough fighters with precise acceleration. They must eat trail vibration, feel stable at all times, and enhance their rider’s cornering ability.
By utilizing Reynolds’ proprietary carbon technology, the good engineers of the Reynolds Composite Studio have achieved these goals – and more – with the 2013 Mountain Line. We are proud to introduce the carbon
650b, 29er and AM wheelsets.

All three of the wheels in our MTN family share common features:
RIMS
We identified five critical areas of a Mountain Bike Wheel: the side wall, the spoke face, the nipple bed, the tire channel, and the rim hook bead. Through modeling, testing, trial and error, we developed a unique carbon fiber lay-up and resin formula combination for each of the five areas. We refer to this technology as MR5. Then, we used Inert Gas Compaction, our exclusive molding process, to cure it, resulting in a rim that is more durable and will not soften or lose structure as it ages.
SPOKES
Every wheel in our MTN Wheel Line is built with double-butted spokes, which are lightweight, yet can withstand 750-800 pounds of force. They are cold-forged, thinner in the center than the ends and gorgeous in a matte black finish.
HUBS
New for 2013, our proprietary straight-pull hubs are 55g per set lighter than previous J-bend hubs, and they offer more points of engagement. We like the way they benefit wheel stiffness with a wider bracing angle of spokes.
For maximum compatibility, we sell every wheel with a complete set of end cap options: for the front - quick release, 15mm thru axle, and 20mm thru axle. For the rear – quick release, 135 x 10 thru axle, and 142 x 12 thru axle.
ALLOY
We also offer two ALLOY versions of our 650b and 29er MTN wheels.
